Old Kentucky Chocolates

Old Kentucky Chocolates partnered with Full Court Social, through Bolt Marketing, to refine their social media presence by developing a clear, consistent brand image and personality while finding more engaging and strategic ways to share information about their products. The goal was to strengthen their connection with both their loyal customer base and their broader target audience.


After conducting a thorough analysis of their social platforms, we identified several key areas for improvement. These included posting consistency, audience connection points, product storytelling, differentiation from competitors, clarity of brand persona, and overall relevance of content. While Old Kentucky Chocolates was a beloved local brand with an excellent reputation, their social media did not fully reflect the warmth, craftsmanship, and care that customers experience in their stores.


To address these gaps, Full Court Social developed a comprehensive social strategy designed to transform these weaknesses into strengths. Old Kentucky Chocolates is a staple of the Lexington community, known for high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and a welcoming, hometown feel. Our objective was to translate that same experience into their digital presence while also highlighting the dedication and craftsmanship behind their chocolates, which truly sets them apart from competitors.


We focused on creating content that was both engaging and aligned with their brand identity, which is friendly, familial, playful, and professional. This was achieved by applying a polished and slightly elevated approach to trending graphics and videos, selecting trends that fit their brand voice, and capturing all content using high-quality, cinematic cameras. We also ensured that all visual elements followed their brand guidelines for consistency in style, typography, color, and tone. Additionally, we maintained this brand voice across captions, comment responses, and engagement with other accounts to reinforce their identity at every touchpoint.


To better showcase the quality and uniqueness of their products, we introduced content formats such as “this or that” graphics, “candy anatomy” breakdowns, and behind-the-scenes videos that highlighted the chocolate-making process. These creative formats encouraged audience interaction while also providing insight into the craftsmanship behind each product. We also incorporated testimonial graphics to share real customer experiences, further reinforcing trust and authenticity around the brand.


As a result of this strategy, Old Kentucky Chocolates now has a clear and cohesive brand presence from the moment users visit their social profiles. They maintain consistent, scheduled posting, uniform branding across all content, and a diverse mix of post formats that keep their audience engaged. Their social platforms now more effectively communicate product quality, brand personality, and the heart of their business, aligning their digital presence with the strong reputation they hold in the community.
